PECO is a non-governmental indigenous organization established in Ethiopia in September 2020. We are dedicated to improving food security, promoting gender equality, enhancing education, and fostering peace, among other humanitarian efforts.
Our Services
PECO strengthens humanitarian response for peacebuilding, supports education, works on agricultural sustainability for food security and livelihood, and addresses the needs of orphans, widows, and people with disabilities. We also focus on gender mainstreaming, health and nutrition, youth empowerment, and WASH and sanitation
Food Security and Livelihood
We empower communities through agriculture, supporting cultivation with government coalition and providing agricultural tools to host communities and farmers. We also teach women and girls financial literacy to enable them to support themselves and their families.
Education
PECO supports adult education, girls' education, and literacy/numeracy programs for those who cannot read or write. We also provide educational materials and food items, including for disabled children.
Women Empowerment
We engage women and girls in GBV programs to raise awareness of types, causes, consequences, and preventive measures. We also involve men as allies and advocates for women's empowerment and gender equality
Health and Nutrition
We emphasize providing nutrition to children, girls, and women in schools, recognizing its importance for learning and addressing malnutrition

About Our Company
Our Story: Poverty Eradication Coalition Organization (PECO) is an indigenous non-governmental organization established in Ethiopia in September 2020. We were formed to address identified gaps in communities that impact the lives of women and girls, striving to provide equal opportunities for all, irrespective of background. Our vision is to become one of the top local humanitarian organizations in Gambella by 2036. Our mission is to strengthen humanitarian response, support education, promote agricultural sustainability, and work on various programs to empower vulnerable populations and foster peace.
